Ian has been a Unionist voice in the previous Seanad, picked by Leo Varadkar. Ian was a proponent and promoter of cross border cooperation and building bridges. Despite Taoiseach Martin advocating a “Shared Island”, Ian was unceremoniously omitted from the Taoiseach picks.
